Annals of Wyoming: The Wyoming History Journal is published quarterly by the Wyoming State Historical Society in association with the Wyoming State Parks & Cultural Resources, the American Heritage Center, and the Department of History, University of Wyoming. The Journal was previously published as the Quarterly Bulletin (1923-1925), Annals of Wyoming (1925-1993), Wyoming Annals (1993-1995) and Wyoming History Journal (1995-1996). The Annals has been the official publication of the Wyoming State Historical Society since 1953 and is distributed as a benefit of membership in the Wyoming State Historical Society. The editor of Annals of Wyoming welcomes manuscripts and photographs on every aspect of the history of Wyoming and the West. Appropriate for submission are unpublished, research-based articles which provide new information or which offer new interpretations of historical events. First-person accounts based on personal experience or recollections of events will be considered for use in the "Wyoming Memories" section. Historic photo essays for possible publication in "Wyoming Memories" are also welcome. Articles are reviewed and referred by members of the journal's Editorial Advisory Board and others. Decisions regarding publication are made by the editor. Manuscripts (along with suggestions for illustrations or photographs) should be submitted on computer diskettes in a format created by one of the widely-used word processing programs along with two printed copies. LOCATING ISSUES OF THE ANNALS OF WYOMING: If your local library does not have the Annals of Wyoming, you may also request desired articles through interlibrary loan at your local library. The Annals of Wyoming is available at many libraries throughout the country, and there should be no problem getting copies of the articles and pages. If you do have difficulties, please contact the Society. By computerizing this index even an inexperienced user can search the data base within seconds for individual words or phrases. Cross-referencing that would have taken hours in the past can now be done in moments thanks to the wonders of modern technology. Also, once the subject you seek is found, you can simply print the page you need without having to print the entire index. The data is available in three formats: Microsoft Word (DOC) and Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) in compressed .Zip files and TomeRaider format (see below). Zip files are "archives" used for distributing and storing files. Zip files contain one or more files. Usually the files "archived" in a Zip are compressed to save space. Zip files make it easy to group files and make transporting and copying these files faster. If you are using Microsoft Windows you can download WinZip here or download PKZIP for Windows here.
