This calendar is published by the Wyoming Department of Commerce in cooperation with the Wyoming State Historical Society. Edited by Mark Junge. ![]() Our Vanishing Heritage Wyoming History in Places, the theme for the 1994 Wyoming State Historical Society Calendar, shows with pictures and narratives scenes that depict Wyoming history. As the editor, Mark Junge, pointed out that Wyoming's "architectural centerpieces, such as the ivinson Mansion in Laramie, the Ferris Mansion in Rawlins, . . . don't signify Wyoming history." Junge points out that Wyoming's legacy of historic places is predominantly rural in nature. ![]() The calendar displays photographs of historic places predominantly in rural or small town settings. All but one of the month's photographs come from the Joseph E. Stimson Collection. Over half of the historic structures are now torn down.
