Women’s 20th Century Fashion Exhibit Closing Soon
After a near 10-month residency, the women’s history exhibit of 20th century fashion on display at the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, Wyoming, is set to close on April 1. The exhibit features a custom collection of more than 3,000 historical artifacts of women’s clothing, accessories, toiletries and household items from the 1920s-1970s. The collection is owned by costumer and fashion historian Leslie Drollinger Stratmoenof Riverton, Wyoming, all showcased in her exhibit, “Flappers to Fringe.” The collection is staged in six life-sized dioramas featuring a female mannequin with her steamer trunk as if she’s the fashionable young lady of the day arriving at the hotel and getting ready for an event. Self-guided tours, with accompanying pamphlet, are offered daily, 9 am to 9 pm, by reservation or by booking in person at the lobby desk. Cost is $5 per person. Call 307-684-0451. The exhibit is sponsored in part by the Wyoming Arts Council, Wyoming Humanities and Johnson County Tourism Association.
