Friday August 21st

12:00 noon – Meet at the National Trails Center parking lot.

1:00 pm – Midwest Wyoming Salt Creek Museum

Discover:

  • Shannon and Salt Creek First Gusher (Cy Iba)
  • Midwest, Edgerton, Lavoye
  • First FB game under lights
  • Teapot Dome scandal

4:00–6:00 pm – Return to Casper

6:00 pm – Dinner at Best Western Ballroom (Old Parkway)

Boston Pizza will have menu options.

Speaker: Sandy DeFry on the Petroleum Club history.

Best Western Hotel and Convention Center has a block of rooms under Historical Society for $110 per night starting August 20th, if needed.

Saturday August 22nd

7:15 am – Meet at the National Trails Center parking lot, where NHTIC’s outstanding educator Jason Vlcan will join us.

Travel to Glenrock Sheepherder’s Rendezvous

8:00 am – Pancake Breakfast

Enjoy dog trials, music, open fire cooking & walking tour.

1:00 pm – Deer Creek Station

Bissonet Trading Post
Major Twiss Indian Commission

2:30 pm – Casper Overland Trail

5:00 pm – Fort Casper Tour and Barbecue catered by Mac’s Smokehouse ($23 for meal)

Menu:

  • BBQ smoked brisket and pork
  • Slider buns
  • Potato salad
  • Baked beans
